It's been 43 years!

Hi,

I must apologize for not sending any email updates since 2020.

I hope that this email finds you well, and that you’re continuing to thrive in the weird world we find ourselves in these days.

In fact, I can imagine that you might have completely forgotten that you’d subscribed to a email newsletter for The .NET Core Podcast.

PSA: May 2020 and the website

Hey everyone!

Firstly, apologies for not sending out newsletters recently. I hope that this one finds you well and that you’re staying safe in the current global situation.

I wanted to send a newsletter out as a quick PSA regarding the website. The tl;dr (too long; didn’t read) is that the website hasn’t been hacked, I’ve moved web hosts and forgotten to take an HTTP header off.

Apologies, everyone.

First, I need to apologise for the potential sombre feel to this newsletter. Secondly, let me say that no one is injured or hurt in anyway. However, it is with an extremely heavy heart that I must announce that The .NET Core Podcast has go on an indefinite hiatus.

I’m sitting on my couch, typing this out on my phone, so I apologise for any spelling, grammar, or formatting issues in advance.

I returned home from work this evening (only a few hours ago) to find that my home office had flooded. I don’t know how, or what the source was, yet. But it destroyed all of my hardware.

Luckily, the raw files for all episodes are backed up off site. This includes the next few episodes. They are only partially edited. I can source a laptop, I should be able to finalise editing them. But they wont have transcriptions, the show notes will remain unfinished, and I wont be able to speak for the artwork.

2019-07 Vacation Time!

Welcome to the second edition of The .NET Core Podcast newsletter.

Did you upgrade all of your projects from v1.x to v2.1 (at the very least) yet? If not, then you really should be pushing your clients to let you do this. Without support, your projects could be left in a state where they are susceptible to any and all new issues found.

Anyway, less of that. More of the newsletter. Summer is in full swing, and I hope that you’re all able to spend some time away from your keyboards and enjoy the weather. Remember, that , regardless of how much of an important cog in the corporate machine you are

2019-07 June’s First Edition

A few days ago, a number of .NET Core team members started reminding people that support for 1.x had ended. I took to dev.to and wrote an article reminding folks to upgrade. So I thought I’d start this newsletter with another subtle poke in that direction.

2019-06 June: The Redux

Wait, we’ve read this one already!

I know, but I was so taken aback by the sheer number of typos and incorrect links that I’ve decided to send it again (and delete the previous version from the archives).

Please accept my apologies folks. It wont happen again.
