Hello!
I run a website called the RHCP Recording Sessions Archive. It's a database, a repository, an encyclopedia of sorts, about the Red Hot Chili Peppers. If the band ever went into a recording studio, I've tried to list where it happened, when it happened, what they recorded, and when (if ever) those recordings were released. Aside from that, on the site I link to rare recordings, a track variant guide, and some longer form writing about the band.
But there's so much more to say, and it doesn't always fall under such neat margins. They're an enormous band, with a long and varied history; each "era" they've been through is so wildly different from the one that came next, it's like they're five different bands in one. The RHCP of 1985 looks and sounds nothing like the RHCP of 2002, but they're both equally fascinating to me.
This newsletter is a place for musing about the Red Hot Chili Peppers. It is for thoughts about their discography, and their live performances, that can't really be collected elsewhere.
There will be guests. There will be exclusives. There might be some interviews. There will be random, go-nowhere thoughts. There will be the occasional newspaper clipping. Once a month, maybe. Five times a month, if there's enough to say. I won't bother with news; if the band have a new album out, you'll already know about it. This is for the moments that fall between all that.
I hope you'll join me. We'll have fun.
