So, I’ve switched software for these newsletters. Tinyletter was fine and all, but the editor and how it swallowed what I was writing was starting to get a bit annoying. Not to mention the way it kept doing weird style choices — I’m fairly certain one of those old mails are not accessible through the web archive because whatever it did breaks the loading of the page. So this seems this is more robust. I mean, it has paid options and more privacy choices, so I’m feeling good about this.
Comment function would have been nice, saw those on substack but alas, that would require you to go with substack and they’re a bit too casual about transphobic content there. So no. Hopefully it will go well and there will be no issues, but if there are, then you know why.
When I was out with Henson1 the other day a song came up that made me pause. It was really good, reminded me a bit of Ladytron but still not if that makes sense? But it was there in the 2021 playlist and I didn’t recognise the band. Where did it come from? Had someone recommended it? Had to find out so I went through all the best of lists my friends had made but nothing. No one seemed to have listened to this album — which I admit is also fucked up in that it’s a really good one and my friends are obviously fools.
Then I looked up the band itself and saw who was in it and, well, I should have known. Helena Sundström was singing and that explained why it also was so familiar — she also makes music under Mine To Keep and is a mutual on a few social media… Is my face red? Yes. But also, you should listen to the Connecting Dots.
My personal favourite of the album is No Rules, but they also seem to have the good taste to release singles as stand alone songs — none of the three they’ve released so far is on the album and all of it came last year.
I’ve been going through old photos. Not just mine but also from older relatives.
I was quite surprised at how good this photo taken by my grandmother was, and the kid to the left is my mom. My grandfather is to the right.
This was earlier this winter in the village. There’s been lot of snow this December, which is weird. Was decades since that happened last time.

Thank you for reading and I hope it finds you in... a health I suppose. I do hope it was a good one though. Outside of this, there's always bluesky or the links to all things Internets (including art commission info).
