Recession? Don't stop your marketing!
OK so these are apparently some challenging times.
Not necessarily 'uncertain' times (if you remember when covid hit).
But no doubt there's a lot of nervous faces around because of economics.
I'm not a finance guy and I don't know anything about investments and stock markets.
But I'm an SEO guy and I know a bit about SEO and using it to make money, no matter what state the economy is in.
If times are tough for your business right now, I feel for you.
But if your immediate reaction right now is to cut back on your advertising and promotions, I don't feel for you.
You might be going through a period of low sales (or you might not!)
But if you cut back on your marketing, guess what?
You'll go from low sales to no sales.
Tell me that's something you want?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
So what should you do instead?
No one's saying you need to magically find money to run more ads.
It's tough enough as it is when cashflow has weakened. I get it.
If anything, you don't even need to spend more right now.
Just don't stop, is all I'm saying.
Because the moment you stop promoting your business is the moment it begins to die.
It's not dramatic if it's true.
