Islam (announcements for August 8)
Hi everyone,
Santa Clara County revised its public health order this week. We will leave it to each of you to decide whether to wear a mask at church. The fellowship hall will remain a masks-only area during our Sunday service times.
Please continue to pray for our civil authorities to model wisdom and humility, and for the Church to know how to relate to them in a way that honors God and shows true love for other people.
On another topic, I hope many of you will be able to join us for Adult Sunday School over the next couple of weeks. Jonathan will be teaching about the history and teachings of Islam. We need to know about this subject, because we have many Muslim neighbors who need to hear the truth about Christ.
Sincerely,
Pastor Goligher

Social event and lecture: On Friday (August 13) at 7:00pm, the teens invite everyone to a social event at the church. There will be coffee and desserts, live music, and a guest lecture by Colin Redemer, vice-president of the Davenant Institute. Looking ahead
Fasting & Prayer: On Saturday, August 21, we will observe a day of fasting & prayer with the whole denomination. The purpose is to confess our sin, to commit ourselves anew to God’s service, and to ask God to give fresh strength and holiness to the Church, and to bring many to repentance and faith in Christ.
As part of our observance of this day, we will meet for corporate prayer at 3pm on that Saturday. The conclusion of our prayer meeting would be a fitting time for everyone to break their fast.
CityTeam: We have an opportunity to volunteer at CityTeam ministries on August 28, 10am-12pm. There are still some spots available. You can sign-up at this link. If you have any questions, please speak to Scott Porter.
