Things I liked this week (Week 21, 2021)

Things to Click

  1. Little Island from Overview
  2. What would be your dream setup? “A wooden desk in a bright room with nice windows looking out onto something natural – trees, sky, maybe a birdfeeder? There would be plenty of shelves and lots of empty space. It would be quiet, warmish, and close to a source of coffee.” I agree with Edith.
  3. The case for inbox infinity: “But at this point in history, a personal email inbox is essentially an ad server that is occasionally interrupted by chippy emails from older relatives too techphobic to use Facebook.”
  4. The Dirty Drug and the Ice Cream Tub is great episode of Radiolab about a potential miracle drug created from the dirt of Easter Island.
  5. Poor in Tech: “I knew I was the only poor person at my tech startup because nobody else ate the Hot Cheetos that were stocked in our free snack kitchen.”
  6. The word of the day is bacchanal. Meaning an occasion of wild and drunken revelry. As in Army of the Dead is ” … fundamentally a temple to popcorn cinema — or an adrenalized, ballistic bacchanal.”
  7. News from North Korea.
  8. Somewhere in Russia.
