The Radicle - Spring 2021 Mini-Edition Out Now!
Hey Radicles,
We hope that you’ve been enjoying these past few months as we finally get into the swing of summer. Maybe you’ve been soaking up the sun exploring your local park, grabbing dinner (safely!) with friends at a patio, or whiling away your days at a cottage or by a lake. No matter what you’re doing, we hope that you’ve been taking some time to rest and recuperate.
We just couldn’t stay away, so here’s a spring term mini-edition of the Radicle!
Sandra critically analyzes the effects of the Greyhound bus shutdown, which will hit students and rural and Northern communities especially hard. They argue that this highlights the need for provincial and federal governments to provide “reliable, affordable and convenient intercity public transit”.
Nicole is back with two articles. Firstly, she examines the University of Vermont’s sustainability requirement and the importance of interdisciplinary environmental education. And here, she sheds light on informal greenspaces and how they are an underrated tool in building more sustainable cities.
Finally, Bethany invites readers to find a ‘ten minute walk away’ place to adventure to. You might just find your new favourite summer spot!
