The Radicle - April 2021 Edition Out Now!
Hey Radicles,
We hope you’ve been keeping well! Amidst all the chaos of finals, wrapping up a work term, or simply just getting through a late-winter slump, we hope that you’ve had some time to enjoy the warm weather and lengthening days. As we close the term and the scent of spring fills the air, our April edition is full of reflections and hope for the coming season.
Bethany writes about how vital bees and other pollinators are to our ecosystems, as well as how we can take better care of them. In keeping with the theme of nature, Meadow spotlights urban gardener Shashi Dissanayake, who shares her thoughts on reconnecting with the earth through growing your own food.
On a more serious note, Nicole and her team take on the issue of eco-anxiety. Their short film includes perspectives of ENV students and lists resources where anyone can find support if they feel overwhelmed by the seemingly never-ending news cycle of bad stories about climate change. Then, Hayley debunks the viral documentary Seaspiracy, and advises readers to take its claims “with a grain of sea salt”.
Of course, there is much more to see (and listen to!) in our April edition.
Happy reading!

P.S. In order to give our hard-working team a well-deserved break this spring, we’ll be taking a step back from releasing monthly issues until the fall. Exact details still need to be worked out, but you can always keep in touch through email or social media!
