I never think I’m in a rut. I never think I need a rest, a vacation, or time off. I tend to carry on. But then! when I do take some time off it’s like, “Oh yeah. I needed this.” To reset. To see the bigger picture. To spur me on to take action.
I spent 6 days in Barcelona at the beginning of May. I was attending the Avalanche Summit II. I had tons of fun. I got full of paint and sweat while painting a mural. I walked a lot. I saw awesome architecture. I was in the sun. I breathed fresh air. I ate very good food (2 words: Jamón Ibérico). I swam in the sea. I spoke on stage as a panelist. I drew in-front of hundreds of people. I went to bed late. I drank coffee and Sangria and Cerveza and whisky. I hung out with amazing people.
Breaking the norm, breaking habits, breaking routine. This is what this week was for me. It was restful. It gave me life and insight and perspective and direction. It was exactly what I needed.
I find it difficult to take a break. There’s always so much I want to do. But, in hindsight, a break is always what I need. Maybe you do too?
Genny, my generative art collection, has over 100 pieces in it now! All of the items have been sold. I even started its own Twitter account.
I got accepted into the first cohort of the Avaissance Artist in Residence Program. I’ll be getting mentored by John Lê (in my story-telling cohort) and creating a new art collection with a bunch of other top-notch artists.
I got accepted into the first ThirdWed Learn cohort. I’m diving into the code-side of web3 and NFTs.
I’ve been streaming again. Tuesdays at 1pm UTC. I created a really nice piece the other day for holders of my Dreamheadz collection.
Tell me what you’ve been up to, and what you’re curious about right now!
❤️ Big loves
