👽️ Personality Types

swap's musings

People are different. Their goals are different. The way they do things is different.

If at any point you have tried to guess why someone does something in a particular way, you might want to take a deeper look at yourself. I first took the MBTI personality test long back and I tested as an INTP (logician). It was pretty spot on. A few years back, I was going through some changes so I took it again. I tested as an INFP (mediator) this time. The description blew my mind. For the first time, I felt like someone had finally understood me.

He who knows himself is enlightened.

I know enlightenment sounds heavy but bear with me. Once you understand the type of person you are, everything starts making sense to you. You stop giving yourself a hard time and instead start to work around the way you’re wired.

I have 3 friends with the same MBTI type (yes, I made some take this test!). The conversations we have are on another level - they get me. It might not work out for you, but it tells you that people are different. And internalizing this thought has been very beneficial for me. I hope it does the same for you and act as a growth moment.

Some related tests are Big Five, Four Colors, Enneagram, etc. but I’d recommend to start with MBTI first. If you’d like me to connect you with a freakishly similar person, reply with your MBTI type.
