I experimented with a small group in Dec 2020 on how to go about executing goals. Someone suggested the book “The 4 Disciplines of Execution”. The author, Chris McChesney, defines the disciplines as:
New-year resolutions hardly work. You are motivated for a day or two and then slack off. Instead, you can start small with a 21-day goal and build some momentum. Get a weekly streak going. If you’d like to do this with a group of motivated folks, read on.
The first official 4DX cohort kicks off on Jan 7th and runs for 21 days. If you’d like to participate, fill out this form.
We welcome goals in all domains: Build a side project, write a blog, practice music, improve your design eye, learn a new language, work on open-source, read more, become fit, learn about finance, improve product thinking, build a meditation habit, etc. The only thing we ask is that your goal should be measurable and achievable in the next 21 days. When you join, we’ll help you understand the difference between lead and lag measures (and define a relevant lead measure that you can focus on a weekly basis).
Come for the accountability, stay for the community. #TheDXClub
