there is no bottom
Something I've been realizing (in theory but not empirically) as I'm growing older is: there is no bottom. there is no PayPal for life, instead every decision you make has no safety net like we had throughout school. Meaning every decision, every interaction, and move has ripple effects; at the same time you can literally do anything you want.
Maybe I'm just tasting the first few sips of freedom until I go to college dorms whenever this pandemic is over, but I'm kind of surprised that in order to be an "adult" is to get a job, buy an unfurnished apartment and live there alone until you meet someone else; and there's not much else.
In school everything was so deterministic: just do the homework, do well on tests, and that's it; nothing else you have to worry about in life(food taken care by your parents). And for this reason I believe FANG is so enticing: show up on time, do well on performance reviews, and that's it; nothing else you have to worry about life(food taken care by the co)
