Hello, 2020! And thanks for a great start for Stories Without Endings
Three months after going solo with my freelance and consultancy business I’m happy to report that I came off to a good start!
After warming up during the spring of 2019 with the launch of Klimanyt where I was behind the Art Direction, Design and Implementation, I ended the year with two brand new project launches. The online community-oriented universe for new mothers, Momkind. There I implemented the visual identity in blog and product structure on the Shopify platform. And the new alumni platform KP Alumne for news, events, and podcasts at Københavns Professionshøjskole. There I took part in the strategic planning, the concept design and implemented it in Webflow. It’s an ongoing engagement that will continue to expand and improve in 2020. See the case stories below for more details.
I started out offering a branch of services. Including Product Design, Product Management, Webdesign and implementation, Community Building, and Startup Consultancy. And further defining my values as a contractor and a business. It’s now becoming clear to me that editorial design is at the core of my interests and of projects I enjoy working on.
Ending 2019 I got invited into a big digital design project, that I cannot yet reveal the details of. I can say, though, that it has been a great chance for me to continue the design work and thinking that’s been on my heart and mind pretty much since I began working with user experience and digital design now twenty years ago.
The project is still in the making and will be revealed soon. In the mean time, I’ve managed to gather some of my more high-level thoughts on the matter in a recent Medium article, Some perspectives on Editorial design. An article, I was fortunate to have included in the curated UX Collective publication.
Being able to re-discover this focus. How we can in the best way possible use the internet as a platform for sharing, not just information, but also knowledge and ideas. And again having it at the center of my work, makes me full of joy and with great expectations for the year to come.
So, Hello, 2020! Looking forward to meeting you! :)

How do we create a great reader experience preserving and building upon the best from both worlds of traditional printed publications and digital media?

It’s now been more than 25 years of building the internet as a new platform for reading and engaging with media and content. Still, it feels that we have a long way to go…
