Irregular Reveries 12: Word Raft
Hi there,
I hope you’re enjoying these beautiful summer days.
I’ve ridden a 120k bike ride with friends to a nearby city over the weekend, and I’ve loved it. I love the combination of physical activity and being in nature, exploring villages and small towns. I’m planning a 300k bike ride to the coast soon, so I’m preparing for that.
This week’s article
I’ve written an article about my experience with starting Word Raft, an online writing group. I’m glad that it exists, and that the power of positive peer pressure influences me. We can accept two new members, so if you are a writer that wants to get more serious and regular, let me know.

“The Magic of Thinking Big” by David J. Schwartz is still the main book that I read, and I’m taking notes on sections that resonate with me.
Here’s one from the book:
“Remember: People who tell you it cannot be done almost always are unsuccessful people, are strictly average or mediocre at best in terms of accomplishment. The opinions of these people can be poison.”
This has reminded me of one of my favorite quotes:
“The real enemy is the man who tries to mold the human spirit so that it will not dare to spread its wings.” —Abraham Flexner
Something to think about
“Day by day, what you do is who you become.” — Heraclitus
Question for you
What do you think about the news? Are you addicted to it, mindful about it, or do you actively avoid it? Does it bring value to you?
