Is it 2022 or what? 🤨
Hey there,
It's me again.
I've set a few goals for my 2022. Yes, it's a thing I do: every year for as long as I can remember, I've been making a list of goals for the year sometime in late December or early January. And more often than not, I'm hitting most if not all items on the list. The key here is to be realistic about what one can achieve in a year, while also making sure to push forward.
Anywho, one of the goals for this year is called "Reboot the newsletter". It's fair to say that at this point there's pretty much nothing to reboot. So let's be frank, it means that I want to, in fact, start an actual newsletter sometime in 2022.
So here's my commitment to you: I will send out at least one newsletter every other week for the rest of the year. Pinky swear.
I will be writing about what I learn (and every week it's quite a bit), what I work on, where I've been (haha, that's not going to go well given current state of world affairs), what I'm watching, reading, or writing. Hold me to this promise.
Reading
Just finished "Out of Office" by Charlie Warzel and Anne Helen Petersen. An excellent primer on the future of work, and why offices are never going "back to normal". It's really about more than that; it covers a lot of things that we accepted as "normal" for far too long. Highly recommended as an easy, quick, and though-provoking read.
Watching
This is a double-feature for you. I'm finishing the "Station Eleven" on HBO, and with only one episode left to watch, I've also picked up a book that this show is based on (or, rather, inspired by). The show is excellent in both storytelling and phenomenal cast, a pure pleasure to watch. As an added bonus, the book "Station Eleven" is not what you'd expect. The show doesn't match the book, and it's really cool! You get 2 "Station Elevens", both of them exciting and inspiring, intertwined and brilliantly written. Enjoy!
Going
Nah, not really. I just wanted to share these picture from our recent drive to Camano and Fidalgo Islands; both are like 40 miles from home, which I guess, technically counts as "going".

With this, I'm leaving you for the time being. Next time I'll tell you about my goal-setting routine: how I do it, what counts as a goal, how I keep track of my progress, and what do I do to celebrate my accomplishments. In the meantime, behave!
Take care,
Art
