Issue #06

Hey Stargazers,

Any luck with the meteor shower this weekend? Me neither. Today is Monday. The start of a new week. Looking over my calendar, it says this is Week 44 of the year. Sheesh, time has flewn by. In 8 weeks, we’ll be nearing the end of the year!

Over the weekend, I ran around the city with a friend in from out of town. We visited several galleries and shows (make sure to catch Anne Vieux’s Mirror Proxies show at The Hole before it closes on the 29th). As fun and amazing it is to live in such a vibrant city, it can drain you! So, I’m still playing catch-up with my email inbox 🥱

Here’s the TL;DR:

Issue #05

Howdy Pardner,

Hope you’re doing well today. It’s Friday, and the weather today is absolutely divine here in New York this morning. It’s slightly breezy and the air is especially sharp this morning. I hope you can enjoy a little bit of sunshine today before the weekend kicks off.

This will be a pretty brief issue today. Make sure you dust off your telescope for the meteor shower! 💫

P.S. have you submitted your Federal Student Loan Debt Relief form yet?

Issue #04

Hey folks 👋

Welcome to Issue #4. I thought it would be fun to rebrand this newsletter thing. Précis is a little French term I’ve grown attached to lately. Literally, it means, a summary or abstract of a text or speech. Given that my newsletter dispatches are literally that, I decided to appropriate the name for this newsletter. As for the octagram logo, I just thought it looked cool as hell 🤙

I recognize, it’s been a minute since my last issue. I took a little hiatus. Frankly, I’ve been a little busy. But, now it seems an equilibrium has arrived as we the approach winter. A little bit of peace and introspection has naturally led me back here, collecting links and writing here and there.

Anyways, if there was a theme for this little round-up of links, I guess it would be: life, loss & art. Enjoy!

Issue #03

Welcome to issue #3 folks! It’s bright outside and the air is crisp. Winter days like these feel great. Hope y’all can get outside and enjoy a little sunshine 😎

Over the weekend, in my previous issue, I mentioned that the New York Times should buy Wordle. Turns out, I wasn’t the only one thinking the same thing! The Time picked up the Wordle for roughly a million dollars (more or less). Not bad for a game he hacked together over a weekend. I mentioned this on Twitter, but this is honestly a happy ending for him and for us. Worlde can go on existing under the resources of the Times Games team (for free or under a paywall), and those who tried to profit off of his creation will quickly evaporate thanks to the Times lawyers.

Onward, lets dig into some links.

Here’s the update from the creator of Wordle himself, Josh Wardle:

Issue #02

Howdy folks!

I write to you today from my snowy, sleepy apartment. My radiator is gurgling loudly as we sit out this little Nor’easter. I intend to take full advantage of this storm, and take a little lazy holiday playing games, reading and catching up on my newest unhealthy obsession: BravoTV’s Below Deck

You can see I changed up my newsletter design a little bit with a new icon. Trying some new things these days. Trying to spend my energy sprucing up my digital garden. Might open a shop to sell something I’ve been cooking up. Or maybe not. We’ll see what shakes out as we enter springtime. I’d like to spend more time creating 🤞

Speaking of rest, take notes. Lots of very good tips here:

Howdy folks, and welcome to Issue #01!

Truth be told, I’m a bit rusty writing these little newsletters. I figured I’d give the ol’ newsletter another go. Full disclosure, my preferred format for these sorts of dispatches are as follows:
