The leaves and PETALS are piling up š
I donāt know what happened. One minute, it was the height of Summer; the next, weāre here in Autumn.
In that time, thereās been quite a few updates and highlights to cover when weāre talking all things PETALS.
Without further ado, letās get into it allā¦
THE ADMIN
Seeing as itās been so long and Iāve found a new rhythm, Iām resetting this monthly newsletter to the final week of the month, shortly after 2 more Snapshots to reference.
Iāve also started a new fortnightly checkpoint with the #dev-team to review and reprioritise the next goal which we can then share with you all shortly after.
RELEASE NOTES
Iām going to use GitHub PR comments as a guide for all the project release notes now.
- New Microsoft Forms template now available with Excel toolkit currently going through user testing
- Demo and quick links are now on a new Toolkits page
- More redirects are setup for the newsletter, Linkedin group, Slack workspace and Apple Podcasts
- App dev chat with Brian is now asynchronous in our Slack space along with deep-dive calls in Slack Huddles every second Friday
- Automated GitHub release notes are now in our Slack #release-notes channel
THE CONTENT
Snapshots 5, 6 & 7 have been released since the last newsletter including a big announcement about me leaving ASOS after nearly 10 years.
All the content is now captured on a new Snapshots page to show the latest episodes and follow links to popular platforms like YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
2 public talks are now lined up to promote the simplicity and power of PETALS.
- ManageOps is planned for Tuesday 24 October in Birmingham which is more of a leadership audience so I'm talking through the high level introduction along with case studies that might help convince engineering teams.
- Devops Notts is then confirmed for Tuesday 28 November as a hybrid event online and in Nottingham. This will be more targeted towards engineers so itāll be demonstrating some real stories from other engineersĀ who have seen the value and benefits from PETALS first hand.
Finally, Iāve now helped Mike at Brighton digital agency, Liquid Light setup the Google Toolkit with his dev team. The first session went well but the proof will come through future occurrences.
Join me for the live events if you're in the area or hit reply and let me know if you want to arrange a one-to-one coaching session.

That's it for this month. I'll be back at the end of November with more updates from all those talks and (hopefully) an early alpha release of our app for people to start testing.
Until then, happy Halloween. š
