Launching Sufone + Continued Development

Islamic Apps & Articles

As salamu alaykum my dear sisters and brothers,

This is your brother Naved, returning to your inbox with this month’s updates about Islamic Apps & Articles 😊:

Launching Sufone for Islamic Apps

Our article this month is an exciting overview of some technology: software in general and Islamic apps in particular. Let us consider 🌅 The Future of Islamic Apps.

I’m very excited to share this article because it introduces Sufone, an effort to fulfil Muslims’ needs for excellent Islamic apps.

For next month, let’s jump back into language and explore how to construct words in Arabic (morphology), insha Allah.

App Development Continues

This month saw a lot of work on Qawl – the Desktop/Laptop Quran Reader. A new build production system has been set up, zooming by pinch on a trackpad is smoother, and we are closer to the ‘auto switch’ feature and proper app icon for Linux and Mac. Alhamdulillah.

Most of these improvements are still in progress, and their fruits will come in the future, insha Allah.

The focus for February is to work towards completing an exciting new project: Mubeen – Quran Summaries in English.

This project started about 2 years and now it is near the finish line, so there’ll be exciting things to share next month, insha Allah 😉.

As usual, my inbox is open to any ideas, comments and feedback—just press reply!

Allah, keep us safe and help us to do excellently all we are called to do 🤲
