I’m going with two podcasts this week, both related to my work at a mental health startup.

As a broader analysis, I enjoyed this episode of Plain English about trends in teen mental health. There seem to be 3 main hypotheses at the moment:

  • It’s the smartphones, stupid
  • It’s the social media, stupid
  • It’s the family, stupid

On the deeper side, the CEO of Brightline was on this episode of the Vital Signs podcast talking about building mental health startups and specifically diving deep on reimbursement and incentives. I’m still skeptical that employer-sponsored care is a long-term solution, but it’s fun to see someone as passionate about the dynamics of healthcare payment and delivery as Naomi.
