Kyle's Pick

I’ve been really digging the various projects of British-Barbadian saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings recently. (This is not reciprocation for the popularity of Tiler More in Barbados, although that didn’t hurt.) We Are Sent Here By History by Shabaka and the Ancestors is my personal favorite, but Sons of Kemet’s Caribbean big band hip-hop vibe, as in “My Queen is Ada Eastman,” is probably the most accessible.
