This Week in Coffee; Tuesday 18th of April
Welcome to Moonhead Coffee, the weekly newsletter that brings you the latest news, trends, and updates from the world of coffee. My name is Will, and I’m thrilled to be your guide on this journey. Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast, a barista, or a coffee shop owner, this newsletter is for you.
While I won’t be able to attend the London Coffee Festival this week, I’ll be keeping a close eye on the event and bringing you all the exciting developments in the world of coffee. This week we’ve got La Marzocco’s nordic Linear Mini, which is a cute little machine and came with some Studio Ghibli-esque graphics.
Equipment
You may wonder why the first two links are from La Marzocco, and have I sold out to them? The answer is no, I haven’t - but I certainly would sell out for one of these machines.
They also release this cute little ambient video to go with it.

Macap add the MI20 and MI40 commercial grinders to their line
-
Acaia launches an ion beam with removes static from a grinder output
The Physics here is awesome and it makes sense. Naturally, this won’t replace a spritz bottle for most people but it’s an interesting solution for cafes or prosumers.

The SCA launches ‘beta-test’ of their updated Coffee Value Assessment tool
-
Brazil’s coffee exports dropped by 23% in the first quarter of 2023
Miscellaneous
Ashley Rodriguez is speaking Brendan Adams, founder of Semilla. This is always a great newsletter and I especially enjoyed this week’s edition.
