This Week in Coffee; Monday 22nd of May '23
Thanks for sticking with me after a slightly longer hiatus from the newsletter. It's been a busy period of work followed by a not-busy period of holiday - and now we're back. I'll be extending the news this week to cover everything I've missed in the last few weeks.
While I was on holiday, I was at the Espresso Academy in Florence as part of Coffee Technician training. I can highly recommend them and it's an amazing excuse to visit an incredible part of the world.
And now, the news.
Equipment
This launched back in March but at the time I hadn't seen confirmation that it was available for sale. I've now seen it listed on a number of websites so am including it in this edition.
Lots of commercial locations are moving towards data-driven maintenance scheduling and the C IQ offers a clear insight into when you should change the filter and roughly what kind of performance you're getting.
Industry
Even with natural gas prices coming back down, I think the trend towards electric roasters will continue.
Miscellaneous
Sanremo has recently launched a new showroom and hub in London and I'll be heading down at my first opportunity.
There's a whole heap of other products currently in pre-launch which I will report on as and when they become available for general sale.
As always, if you think I've missed something please let me know! Feedback is always gratefully received.
