This Week in Coffee 28th of November 22
Firstly, it was 'Cyber Monday' yesterday and while I like to worship the great god Mammon as much as the rest of you - it makes following the news very difficult. If you want a few quid off a Nespresso machine then it was really your week. But that isn't what this update is about.
Industry
This is mostly an effort by Lavazza to acquire market share in France and I predict it will mean some investment and the pushing of Lavazza products from now on.
Yankee coffee shop news but would love to hear from commentators on what they think of Blank Street. Worth a visit?
Back to the UK. We've seen a big increase in self service machines after they were first introduced to Waitrose almost a decade ago. Without a coffee 'pedigree' I don't understand why Leon would be successful here but I'm all for more coffee options.
Yeah I mean - pay your workers. On time. Every time. It's not that hard.
Equipment
Look - these dudes can just have my money I don't even know at this point. 3k GBP for a single dose grinder is obviously mental but dead god I want one and I don't even know what the V3 does that the V2 doesn't do.
Misc
"Professional" should go in quotation marks. It's still a single boiler mid range home machine but I think this could be a fun project for some people.
