Weekly Recommendation: Karrieresong by Konny
Hey there!
Here’s your weekly German media recommendation from Monoglot Anxiety. This week's recommendaiton is for "Karrieresong" by Konny.
But first, a quick note from me:
I'm getting settled in Graz after my international move and the bureaucracy seems to finally be subsiding... maybe. This means I'll hopefully have more time to write blog posts soon!
What kind of posts do you like best? What do you want to see more of from the blog? What do you want to see less of?
I'd love to hear what you think either via email or Twitter. Please don't hesitate to get in touch :)
"Karrieresong"
"Karrieresong" kicked off my Spotify "Discover Weekly" playlist and I knew I wanted to recommend it as soon as I heard the first few lines. A melancholy, folksy guitar piece, the song's clearly sung lyrics turn a critial eye to the "normal" rhythm of education and working life. It's hard not to feel a bit sad or maybe even disturbed if you think too hard about the way many of us live — which exactly what the song invites you to do.

If you're looking for more German music on the folksier end of the spectrum with some critical themes, you'll probably like Steiner and Madlania's music. Check out the duo's song "Das Schöne Leben."
