Weekly Recommendation: AlexiBexi
Hey there!
Here’s your weekly German media recommendation from Monoglot Anxiety. This time, it's the YouTuber and Twitch streamer AlexiBexi.
But first, a quick note from me:
Want to share your language journey on my blog? I'm looking for people at all stages of language learning to share their stories on my blog this summer and beyond. Specifically, I want to share your stories with the first foreign language(s) you learned because you wanted to, and not just for school.
If you're interested in writing a guest post, just shoot me an email!

I'm realizing these days that I need to start recommending stuff that I don't necessarily watch myself, because not all of you are a) science nerds, or b) addicted to informational podcasts... Also hey, I want to discover new things too. I'd say that the risk of recommending something bad that I didn't have the chance to vet thoroughly is outweighed by the risk of recommending endless science podcasts.
On that note, this week's recommendation is for the YouTuber and Twitch streamer AlexiBexi, who makes content somewhere at the intersection of comedy, edutainment, internet culture commentary, vlogging, music, tech reviews, and DIY.
AlexiBexi had his internet breakthrough in 2010 when he started to cover English music hits into German, supposedly after he started to wonder if Germans had any idea how absolutely nonsensical the lyrics of the English songs played on German radio really were. These days, the channel is a little of this and a little of that, with videos mostly related to tech and internet culture topics. He makes some video games-related content as well.
The world is Scheiße
Of the videos I skimmed through while putting together this review, one series had me consistently laughing. "So ein scheiß" is basically what it says — a series about things that suck in the world, often with a bit more educational content than one would expect based on the branding. If you don't know where to start with AlexiBexi, check out this series. There are videos on why all sorts of things suck: coffee, brushing your teeth, USB, and internet cookies, to name a few.
