Mission to Uruguay

Missionaries Mark & Jenni Richline, and Steven & Catalina Payson are proclaiming Christ in Uruguay. They are sent and supported by the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Praising the Lord for little Esther!

Last month, Jeni and I were able to spend some quality time with our children in Grand Rapids, MI. We were overjoyed to just “do life” with them: seeing Isaiah get his driver’s license, worshipping with them in their churches, and cheering on Josh in his volleyball matches. Our deepest joy was to welcome our first granddaughter into our family when Esther Harumi Sato was born on April 3rd. Then with deep joy I was blessed to baptize her before returning to Uruguay.

Our Building Gets a Facelift

While we were away, the Paysons led our congregation in making major improvements to our church building. They repaired the deteriorating ledge above the entrance. The outside walls received a fresh coat of paint that did away with the ugly graffiti. And a new, more legible sign for “Salvos Por Gracia” was finished and installed above the doorway.

A Beautiful Household Baptism

One of our founding families, which is also our largest, recently brought their five youngest children to be baptized into God’s covenant of grace. What a blessing to see their parents, after more carefully studying the concept of God’s covenant people and his covenant signs, be convinced they needed to place that sign on their own children. The father is so convinced that he is now trying to persuade another one of our founding families of God’s wondrous promise to be our God and the God of our children.

Regular Gospel Ministry to Visitors

• Ines is an older woman who continues to worship with us.
• Daniel and Jesica are a young couple who consistently participate in our worship and Bible studies, and are being discipled by our ruling elder.
• Lisandro is a young man who recently came to us eager to hear the gospel. As we open scripture with him and share the good news, we seek the Lord to regenerate his heart.
• Two men came to us for clothing one afternoon. While I went upstairs to find what they needed, Stephen shared the gospel with them.

Please pray fervently:

• That the Lord raises up a pastor for Salvos Por Gracia.
• That he blesses us with more ruling elders, as well as deacons.
• That he continues growing this congregation in his truth and grace.
• That he uses our neighborhood outreach to convert sinners and build his church.
• That he would call yet another missionary to serve alongside us.
