Micael Widell Newsletter #48
Captain’s log
March was a good month.
I bought my first Olympus camera, which I will be very excited to try out and compare to my Sony setup, soon when spring arrives here in Sweden.
I went to Portugal for a few days, and got to shoot some live insects with the cheapest 2x macro lens you can buy. In Portugal I also tried another very interesting (and expensive!) macro rig, that will be revealed in an upcoming video on my Youtube channel.
I also finally did a detailed comparison between four of the most popular compact macro photography flashes.
Another thing I am very happy about was I met up with and befriended another Sweden based photography youtuber who I have been following for quite some time. Being a Youtuber can be a pretty lonely job, which I kind of like, but it is so nice to sometimes meet a fellow Youtuber face to face and just hang out and talk about the blessings and challenges of this type of career.
Last but not least, I answered viewer questions about macro photography over at my Patreon.
All in all a pretty good month!
