So, hey... I finally wrote one of these. Forgive me for the multi-year delay. If you came here from tinyletter.com/mattl -- welcome. If you came here from somewhere else, I apologize in advance.
Also, the world is burning, and there are terrifying things going on out there. Bluntly. I'm scared.
So this is going to be a roughly twice a month affair. And here we go. Plugs for various stuff I did at the bottom.

Phones.
I've been using an iPhone for the last two weeks, now beginning week three and starting to forget how to use an Android phone. I'm still not sure I like iOS, but I'm also starting to think the benefits outweigh the issues. From a software freedom perspective, is your average Android phone better or worse than an iPhone? While efforts like
Replicant are good, I would be unable to do lots of things that many of us take for granted now.
Divorces
I was amused to receive a postcard from a court in Texas telling me very bluntly that I was now divorced. Couple this with finding out initially on Facebook. "
Modern Marriage, I guess" (I have been listening to a lot of Pulp.)

Various plugs
I made a film, it's called Orang-U: An Ape Goes To College. You can watch it at orangumovie.com for free. You can also watch it there for $5 USD or local equivalent. Let me know if the local equivalent is bad. Actually, tell me that anyway, but if you go to https://vimeo.com/r/1XYS/TDJNM3l5bD -- you can get the whole movie on Vimeo, at a 100% discount. There's also a book, for free on orangumovie.com or you can buy a printed book for around $6. Or if you have a Kindle, you can buy it here: http://amzn.to/2vBxGJz -- for 99 cents.
We are in the early stages of pre-production on Orang-U 2: Monkey Business and Orang-U 3: TBC. We're already looking for naked background extras for a dream sequence and very possibly the whole thing will be in black and white. It'll also be longer. Five members of the cast from the first one are returning! You can help us pay for it at Indiegogo -- https://indiegogo.com/projects/orang-u-2-monkey-business-and-orang-u-3-movies or you can send naked people our way at https://www.backstage.com/casting/orang-u-2-monkey-business-180150/
Finally, you can send monkey movie money my way at Patreon. https://www.patreon.com/mattl
