We have mutated! Plus, an upcoming release
Il testo in italiano è sotto
Hey Everybody! It’s been a while, isn’t it? In the meantime the world got shaken up quite a bit by mother nature. Fortunately we’ve been doing fine so far. Of course, we don’t know when we will be able to play a live gig again, it’s an uncertainty we share with many others.
But, let’s get on with the updates!
kvsu 2, mutation
It was in the air. Over the years, besides working on our solo stuff, Michele and I have been involved in many “ensemble” projects, often including other artists and musicians (most notably our favourite visual artist Roland aka akirasrebirth). These projects were often heterogeneous in nature, albeit linked by a common approach and style. kvsu was starting to feel a bit too tight and limiting as a container for all this projects and, let’s face it, more than a band, it’s always just being that, a container, a label we could put on our work.
So, since September, we decided to shake things up a bit. We turned kvsu into what it’s always been: some sort of label/collective, which we can use for our projects. We also decided to take Roland on board with us.
To make everything feel very official (not that it was really necessary… but hey, bear with us, we’re heading towards a new lockdown here) we have updated our website, and added some new content. The URL is always the same: kvsu.net
From here, the future is a big question mark. Will we ever get back to do a new Felt Kaan project? Will we finally create that alt-pop / songwriter band, which the world really doesn’t need? Will we get into hardcore techno, or barbie metal (which btw. is a genre somebody should invent)?
Only one thing we know for sure: we don’t know, yet. For now we have to sort out lots of personal matters, because yes, life happens, and everything is complicated.
In the meantime, we have some releases in the pipeline. There’s some old material, live snippets, demos and b-sides. Plus there’s the first proper Kurodama album!
Kurodama – Intimate Spaces
After 5 years of hard work (well of course this is a hyperbole, making music is a pleasure, not really hard work) Hannes finally got his first proper solo album done.
Intimate Spaces is a musical exploration of non-inhabitable architectural spaces and their sounds. It revolves around places like: the inside of a bridge, a cavaedium, a service room. You could call it an ambient album (but Hannes doesn’t really like the term), with occasional detours into noise. It should be out before the winter arrives. We’ll let you know when it’s out. In the meantime, here’s – just for you, our newsletter readers, because we love you and because you read this until the very end without hitting “delete” – the videoclip Hannes made for the track “Bridge”:

Ciao a tutti!
Comunque, veniamo agli aggiornamenti!
kvsu 2, mutazione
Riprenderemo in mano Felt Kaan?
