I wanted to get back to my artistic roots, so I downloaded Aseprite and am playing with some pixel art. Here’s a piece I just finished up. I think I’ll make a lot more stuff like this. It’s a fun, refreshing change of pace. And I need some of that in my life these days.

Just a quick note to let you know that I’ve updated my store (finally).

I’ve got my first edition of tokens available now. These will only be sold as a complete pack. Down the road I’d like to offer them individually, but that will have to wait for the second edition.

Secondly, I’ve updated my . It’s been a long, long time since I’ve updated it, so there are a lot of new proofs on there. I’ve also got 5 sketch commissions available on there.

We’ve got new reference! 581 shots with some cool lighting, dramatic poses, and beautiful costuming.

This one’s a pretty special piece for us because I got to paint Rachel as the central figure in her wedding dress. We’ll be keeping it in our own personal collection. ♥

New reference time! We’ve got another pack featuring Jen, but this time in a lovely, textured, layered costume. This pack has a strong emphasis on dramatic lighting paired with flowing movement. Perfect for everything from drapery studies to full finished illustrations.

We got a chance to work with Frannie to make our first figure drawing reference pack with a new model! She was a blast to work with and we’re really proud of how the reference turned out. They should be amazing shots to do some figure studies with.

. This is the last of the originals we’ve got on hand to be auctioned off until Ikoria is shown next month. Should have a couple new originals in there. :)

We’re looking for models!

We want to shoot other people for Reference.Pictures and are now accepting applications of interest. And we’re looking for… well, everyone. No limits at all. You don’t have to be a professional model, certain body shape, gender, anything. And yes, we’ll be paying anyone who models for us.

All you have to do to apply is send an email to with the city/state you live in (so we can figure out the logistics of working with you), and a few shots of yourself. Also it would be great to know if you would be comfortable with a shoot like our figure drawing ones–no pressure, though!

We’ve got a new reference pack out today! People seemed to love our figure drawing reference we put out a few months ago, but now we wanted to try a similar take on that but with a stronger character focus to the poses, expressions, and actions. So we’re starting with .
