A "Rev. Dev" Resurrection -- Let's reconnect!
Hello there,
I hope this message finds you well. It's been quite a while since you heard from me, and for that, I apologize. My silence was not out of neglect, but rather the result of a transformative journey that I'm excited to share with you now.
Since we last connected, I've embarked on a new path. After attending Tech Elevator's coding bootcamp in 2021, I've switched gears from theology and church work to a full-time role as a software engineer. I'm now navigating the tech landscape from my home base in Pittsburgh, PA, fueling myself with gallons of coffee and countless lines of code.
During this transition, I've crafted a new identity – "The Rev. Dev." I see myself as a pastor-turned-programmer who solves problems with an eye for detail and a heart for people. It's my way of blending the compassionate approach of a pastor with the precision and problem-solving acuity of a developer.
(So, therevdev.com now redirects to joshuapsteele.com!)
Now, you might be wondering, what does this mean for you, the faithful reader of my once dormant newsletter? It means that I want to bring you along with me on this journey. My aim is to leverage my experience in software engineering and personal development to bring you actionable insights, to help you solve problems, and to guide you in your own journeys.
In addition to "The Rev. Dev," I'm also excited to introduce you to another project of mine - "8020 Tools." It's a curated collection of the best resources I've found for personal and professional growth. The name "8020 Tools" reflects the "Pareto" principle that 80% of outcomes come from 20% of inputs. My goal is to help you identify and focus on that valuable 20% to lead a more effective and fulfilled life.
I'll be sharing books, tools, mental models, and lessons on productivity and personal development.
But more than that, I want this to be a conversation. So, I want to hear from you. What questions are burning in your mind? What problems do you need help solving? What topics would you love to learn more about?
Please feel free to hit 'Reply' to this email and share your thoughts with me. Your input will help shape the future content of this newsletter, of "The Rev. Dev" and "8020 Tools," and our shared learning journey.
Thank you for your patience, your support, and for being a part of this exciting journey. I'm eager to reconnect and look forward to hearing from you soon!
Best,
Joshua P. Steele
