A GAME TO ENTERTAIN CHILDREN AT OUTDOOR CONCERTS

ABSTRACT
A bingo-type game using anticipated words from song lyrics. An Indigo Girls’ concert is uniquely suited to this game even when one is playing with a pre-reader (is that what we call kids who don’t read yet?) and therefore limited to easily recognizable concrete nouns. Even without the abstract concepts (free! pain! love!), there are still plenty of easy-to-draw motifs that appear in at least two songs likely to be played over the course of the evening (see Figure 1). A Josh Ritter show would also work, I imagine. Wolves, snow, shadows, trains!

The beta version of this game tested reasonably well with adults ages 39 to 43 and children age 4 years, 363 days.
