A SEMI-NOVEL APPLICATION FOR DRAWERS THAT ARE NO LONGER USEFUL AS DRAWERS

ABSTRACT

You can use an old drawer (or two) as a nightstand or even perhaps as an end table for a futon. As the below figure illustrates, this application requires no special skills to implement, though hopefully you can see the potential for this idea to be executed in a more aesthetically pleasing way by someone with a modicum of taste and/or a can of spray paint.

Drawers can be easily obtained at your local Restore for around $2 each. I imagine you might also find them at yard sales, swap piles at your local dump or anywhere else fine home items are procured for free. And I’m sure you’ll soon be able to find them at Goodwill and other secondhand stores once this trend really catches on, which I keep telling my wife will be any day now.
