Intentional Society: Unfolding the Collective Presence
Our next introductory call is this Sunday, March 21st at 11am Pacific Daylight Time (UTC-7).
We've now wrapped up our first tour of relational practices, and the final stop last week was added because it was what our needs were calling for - not because we were just being tourists. As I tried to feel into what going from "pretty good" to "amazing" would look like, I felt something calling back from the future. Something we can't quite see, but that is calling us to something greater and more profound than we dream.
How can we see into a potential unfolding? There is a type of circle practice that senses into a question like this, which is Collective Presencing. I've been fortunate to catch a few of Ria's Friday sessions at The Stoa, and backed my way into loading this up for us as a tool to help us along, not as a practice just for the sake of connection. We circled around the question, "What possibilities of being and doing are our future selves calling us to?" The shares towards the center would intertwingle with each other, dance in different directions, recombine... I felt a "field" in play which was created by all of us and bigger than any of us.
Did it work? Well, I know I saw some things that I wouldn't have on my own. I also think we heard some things voiced that we wouldn't have with a more structured planning process. I think different people had different experiences, as is common. And we'll get to the planning process too, eventually. But I am content that we found, shared, and planted some seeds of potential with this experience, that might re-emerge and bear fruit just when they're needed.
This week we'll start digging in to Adult Development Theory, the field of mapping personal growth stages. This is another foundational component of Intentional Society - being aware of and intentional about our growth journeys, so that we and others can support us in rising to meet the growth-edge challenges we're encountering. These maps have been so helpful in my own narrative; I'm excited to see some of our party's adventurers encounter them for the first time.
If you're facing an existential crisis, come join us! Or if you're stressed, stuck, and need to find a new way through... don't go alone - others have crossed similar bridges. 😁
