Hi everyone!
Here we are again, at my favorite time of the year, where fall turns to winter.
I’ve skimmed over my recent reading list to pick out a few highlights of interesting links I’d like to share.
The best hoodies on the market
I’m currently in the market for a new hoodie, having broken the zipper off my last remaining good zip up sweater.
Both of these came highly rated:

Classic Full Zip from American Giant

“The greatest hoodie ever made.” - Slate
10-Year Hoodie from Huckberry

“A 10-Year investment in your closet. A 10-Year investment in America.”

URL2Video uses AI to perform Automatic Video Creation From a Web Page:

The related article writes:
A typical video costs between $880 and $1,200 and can take days to weeks to produce.”
The videos out of the algorithm aren’t particularly entertaining or informative but are representative of a future where marketers can produce even more content economically at scale. The implications of that trend bring both new opportunities and concerns.
10k ppi OLED displays
Samsung recently announced new OLED technology that removes the screen door effect on VR displays, paving the way toward more immersive gaming experiences on the horizon:

I don’t plan on upgrading my Oculus Quest 1 for a Quest 2, which brings incremental upgrades to the platform. But by version 3 of this technology, we should hope to see the large improvements needed to pass the tipping point into mass adoption.
Skynet/SkyDB
While working in the DeFi space, I had an opportunity this month to experiment with the Sia Skynet protocol for distributed files.

If you’ve dabbled with IPFS, Dat (Beaker Browser), or similar technologies, I suggest checking it out. The new database offering looks particularly interesting:

I recently gave a small interview on these emerging “web3” capabilities for developers.

On Audible
I’m ~2hrs out from finishing the Audiobook “Can’t Hurt Me” from David Goggins – rightfully considered by many to be the toughest man alive.
This book is filled cover to cover with wisdom and inspiration. I highly recommend it!

Latest music
I completed my Shadow Hills composition for Halloween, adding in contemporary orchestra string samples, nylon guitar, and percussion. Check it out!:
