Haven't done a baseball / Cubs Grub since the season started and given their big win against the Dodgers today and their five game win streak, it felt as good a time as any.
I like that this Grub is a little more abstract with the eye in the logo, the glove as the body, and the bat/ball as the tail. I've done Cubs related Grubs in the past, but I think this is by far the best one.
My wife recently got a case of Chardonnay from her work so we just cracked open a bottle. Chard is really not in my wheelhouse, but when you have 12 free bottles...
My new work project with our big client finally started to get going a bit yesterday and today and for once I finally feel confident going into one of these which is a weird feeling for me. One of my biggest strengths is learning on the fly and just figuring out things to make sure shit gets done. Given that, I tend to get thrown on the projects with the most ambiguity to try to figure out how to get things going and create "additional value." That's not the case with this one so I'm feeling a lot more comfortable going in and knowing exactly how we can deliver and extend the project to bring in more dollars.
foofaraw is still a ton of fun. I've been a little disappointed that most people don't seem to see it worth paying for... I'm trying to add some additional value to the paid offering, but I really just want to be a place that publishes cool shit and I'd like to at least bring in 50% of what I spend on submissions and commissions so I don't lose my shirt and we are falling pretty short as of right now... No end in sight though! I'll just be sticking with my regular contributors with a fiction piece every other week until I can figure out how to get a little bit of revenue going.
Wow... didn't mean to go that long on this...
