This Sunday morning I will be addressing the subject of child safety in the Adult Sunday school class. The goal is to equip our church to prevent abuse and to respond appropriately to abuse if and when it happens.
For a variety of reasons, this subject is becoming more important and more complex. I plan to address 4 key developments in the past year that we need to be aware of as we consider how to nurture and guard our children, and how to live as “children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15).
Another item to look forward to in Adult Sunday school is a presentation from Jonathan Bartlett on what Christians should know about Islam. He will give this presentation on August 8, with some follow-up on August 15.
Sunday school is at 9:45am. In the adult class, Pastor Goligher will address the subject of child safety. Everyone is encouraged to attend, especially parents and those involved in our church’s ministry to children.
The morning service is at 11:00am.
The evening service is at 5:00pm.
Tuesday Bible Study is on Tuesday at 10:30am, at church and on Zoom. We are continuing in Nehemiah.
Park Day is on Wednesday at 10am, at Steve Carli park in Santa Clara. Everyone is welcome, especially moms and kids.
Prayer Meeting is on Wednesday evening at 7:15pm, at church and on Zoom.
Ladies are invited to meet for coffee and dessert on Thursday July 29 at 7pm, under the tent at the church.
Teens will be hiking at Glen Canyon in San Francisco on Saturday. This week, we are reading Daniel 1-6, the book of James, and the rest of My Tech-Wise Life. Please also listen to an episode of the podcast 5 Minutes in Church History.
We have ordered a full set of Trinity Psalter Hymnals for the church, as well as about 30 copies for members of the congregation. It is going to take some time for these to arrive, because they are currently being reprinted.
