Paving the Way for Enhanced Nutrition Action Using Nuclear Techniques
October 10-13, 2023, Vienna, Austria. PIN’s Dr. Srishti Sinha participated in the Technical Meeting on the Role of Nuclear Techniques to Tackle Nutritional Challenges in the 21st Century, where over 40 nutrition experts gathered virtually and in person at IAEA Headquarters in Vienna. IAEA has been a driving force in the support of the use of stable isotope and nuclear techniques, significantly improving the accuracy and precision of nutritional assessments. These techniques continue to play a pivotal role in better understanding nutrition outcomes to help shape nutrition practices and policies in countries. WHO issues new guideline to tackle acute malnutrition in children under five
November 20, 2023. "This is the first WHO guideline focusing on both prevention and management of acute malnutrition and highlights the vital importance of investing in both these aspects to have real impact on reducing the prevalence and negative impacts of acute malnutrition on children and their families around the world." School Meals and Food Systems: Rethinking the consequences for climate, environment, biodiversity and food sovereignty.
By engaging more than 160 global food systems transformation experts, the Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition produced this evidence-based white paper at the invitation of the member states of the School Meals Coalition, presented at COP 28 in Dubai.
Environmental, climate and health-related dietary motivations are associated with higher diet quality in a national sample of US adults with lower incomes.
