Cloud Bites #5! I’m writing this partly on a train through the east coast, so lots of trees and suburban malls in view. There was a nice section of misty marshland shrouded in greenery!
Four recommendations this time!
First we’ve got Frozen Tofu as an easy delicous snack. When you freeze tofu, ice crystals make a lot of small holes in the structure so it becomes kind of an open-hole foam. The texture is completely changed and it easily absorbs flavors and sauces, making it an especially good addition to soups! The recipe linked above recommends steaming the tofu before freezing it. I bet that’d work well but I haven’t had issues freezing it right in the package.
One thing that I’ve been doing lately is exploring the world via Google Earth. While y’all probably already know about it, I’ve found it fascinating to try to wrap my head around the distances and natural formations between different cities and places. For instance, there’s a mountain range separating France and Spain! Who knew! Probably everyone reading this, but I’m impressed. It’s astounding how much of the western United States is desert. Anyways, fun times.
I also recently sent myself a letter via LetterStream. They print out a pdf of a return label, put it in an envelope and send it to you for $1.02. Say I return 20 things a year, I’m out $20.40! And with way less hassle than owning and servicing a printer, which for no reason I can understand is consistently the least user-friendly piece of technology I have every encountered.
Printers got you stressed? Consider The small hours, a peaceful artsy virtual room to chill out your study sessions. Similar to lofi hip hop radio - beats to study/relax to which is fun if you haven’t heard of it.
That’s everything!
All the best, Charles
