Phew, remember when I said I was sick last week? Turns out it was COVID. Luckily I’m on the mend, though! Let’s surf.

Something that interested me this week

This week was a lot more rough than I expected, with COVID working through me. Thank goodness though, I didn’t lose my smell or taste, it was just a lot of fatigue, voice, and sinus issues! Voice issues are not great when you regularly record podcasts (I was supposed to record 6 episodes this week… I got 1 done), but it forced me to slow down a bit and just rest.

I did binge two shows (Superstore and The Dropout), which were really fun to watch, read some books (almost done with Dark Matter by Blake Crouch and partway through Atlas of the Heart by BrenĆ© Brown), and slept… a lot. Please get vaccinated if you haven’t been already! I’m boosted and it still knocked me around.

Interview question of the week

Last week, I had you figure out coin combinations. There’s some really cool answers this week (including FORTRAN??), awesome work Will, Ten, Leyan, Zoe, Ramon, Mo, Amine, Dan, Giovanni, Hristiyan, Ezell, Nicole, Kelvin, Divyansh, and Shriyash!

This week’s question:
Create a loooong teeeext generator that takes in a string and an integer n, and multiplies the vowels in the string by n.

Example:

$ longText('hello world', 3)
$ 'heeellooo wooorld'

$ longText('lol', 10)
$ 'looooooooool'
