Hellloooo!

I hope you had a great week! Mine was good until I got pretty sick, but luckily I think I’m over the worst of it now. Anyway, enough of that, time for the web!

Something that interested me this week

This past week I learned a lot about K-pop music and culture from some friends who came into town! I had known about it and listened to it before casually, but with multiple people coming into Chicago for K-pop concerts, it was really interesting learning about the fandom from people who are deep into it. It’s a genius combination of catchy songs, signature dances, and groups that really connect well with their fans (here’s a good article on the subject) that made it a really fun learning (and listening!) experience.

Also, unrelated to K-pop, I learned how to customize my Zsh prompt and blogged about it. Wee!

Interview question of the week

Last week, I had you determine if characters in a string are unique. Great work Ciarán, Les, Will, Krupa, Ten, Tan, Kelvin, Nicole, OtterElevator, David, Leyan, Ben, Amine, Mike, Olumide, Dan, Justin, Gülşah, Owen, Ivana, Augustin, Hristiyan, Phil, Johannes, Wayne, Jorge, Don, and Divyansh!

This week’s question:
Given an int array coins and an int amount, return an array of coins that add up to amount (and an empty array if it’s an impossible combination).

Example:

let coins = [2,3,5,7]
let amount = 17

$ coinCombo(coins, amount)
$ [3,7,7]

$ coinCombo([2,3,5], 11)
$ [3,3,5]
