Something that interested me this week

Phew, so… Twitter’s been a bit of a trash fire lately, eh? It’s kind of wild to see. The discourse on there wasn’t always the best, but it felt like it was our mess, heh. Anyway. I think it’s not just me who is thinking about where everyone will go next.

I’ve really enjoyed Discord and Reddit, and I’m slowly getting used to Mastodon. I also rebuilt my blog, which I have to finish up, but it’s a start! A lot of the things I’ve been spending more time on are good for… knowing the things I know, if that makes sense, but discoverability of new things is hard. On Twitter, I could find out about new opinions, new people, and new organizations regularly, and that going away/getting harder is a bummer. Anyway, I’ll be curious what happens with all this.

Interview question of the week

Last week, I had you find and sum rectangles in a 2D array! Great job Ten, Daniel, Saad, and Max!

This week’s question:
Given a string, make every consonant after a vowel uppercase. Can you do this with and without regex?

Example:

> capitalAfterVowel("hello world")
> "heLlo WoRld"

> capitalAfterVowel("xaabeuekadii")
> "xaaBeueKaDii"
