Welcome to the Cantata newsletter! Thanks for being subscribed, and as always it’s worth stating how much it means to me that you care about this weird tactical space game!
We’re gearing up for some BIG announcements soon, and part of that has been refreshing the public facing parts of Cantata. Which means… NEW SCREENSHOTS. Read on!
It’s always scary to put up new screenshots for a work-in-progress game. Even as I’m looking at the new ones on our Steam page it’s hard for me not to only see what’s still missing. However, looking back on the old screenshots it’s also so easy to see how far we’ve come! What feels like incremental progress over the course of days compounds over time, and all of a sudden you look back and realize that “Hey! We’ve come a long way!”
I don’t want to talk too much here about the content of the screenshots themselves (ask on the forum!), but what I can say is that most of them are taken from Chapter 1, the first chapter of Cantata’s single player campaign. Here’s another shot:
Spooky! We’ve also got 8 more new shots on the:
We’ve gone through and refreshed our Steam page! We’ve added the above screenshots and 8 new ones to the carousel, so head on over to the page to check out all the new looks at the game!
You’re also seeing a first peek at the new character art, but we’ll talk more about that in the future — for now enjoy the small taste :)
We wrapped up bi-weekly modding streams a few months ago, meant to demo everything modders will be able to tweak when making a Cantata mod. If you missed it, don’t worry, as everything is up and archived on our Youtube channel.
To all who dropped by the streams, thank you!
The next series of streams will be MUCH more focused on direct Cantata gameplay, with us (likely) walking through each faction and what they can do. We’ll stream the videos to our Twitch channel, Youtube, and Steam), so if you follow us anywhere you should catch it!
Cantata has a forum! We’d love to have you stop by and ask any questions you have about the game! Because places like Discord and Twitter can be so ephemeral and intense, the forum is a place we want to cultivate as a calm, chill place to talk about the game.
We also want people to start collaborating here around making mods together, sharing maps, tips, etc., so I hope you stop by and join the conversation!
Thanks again for reading! We’ve got lots in store for Cantata in the future, and can’t wait to share it all with you!
