PlaneFinder Update and More
Hi,
Thanks for subscribing to the balena-ads-b newsletter.
PlaneFinder Update
PlaneFinder recently deprecated version 4.0 of their client, which caused the deployment of new balena-ads-b installations to fail. If you have experienced problems with building the repo over the last few days, this is why.
The good news is that we have fixed the problem, and balena-ads-b now includes the shiny new version 5.0 of PlaneFinder.
There are no breaking changes to the configuration, so upgrading is simple. If you have not done any source code modifications, you can simply follow the link below:
Then choose the option "Use an existing application instead," and specify your existing application.
Alternatively, you can pull the balena-ads-b repo and push it to your balena application.
Recently Added Services
If it's a while since last time you updated your feeder, you might not be feeding to all the supported networks. Recent additions include RadarBox and OpenSky Network. If you are missing out on any of these services, head over to our documentiation to read about how you can upgrade.
Supported Hardware
We recently updated the balena-ads-b repo to support Raspberry Pi 4 and Intel NUC. So if you are considering upgrading your hardware, you might have a good excuse now. :)
UAT Support
UAT support is in the works, but we have no way of testing it here in Europe. If you live in the US and have a spare RTLSDR dongle at hand, please reach out to us. Testers are wanted!
