Writing Contest, Books, and Story Links
It's Autumn, Y'all (at least in Oklahoma)
A little preface:
I'm new to writing personal newsletters through a server and have been getting my bearings. I wrote this in mid-October and then realized my previous drafts hadn't sent. Instead of crying, I decided it's okay. We all have learning curves and it's well worth the time to make mistakes and keep on learning. That said, here's what I had to say. I promise this newsletter really will arrive every fortnight (two weeks) or so in the future. Thanks for excusing the shorter window on this one.
Greetings from Autumn in Oklahoma, United States! It's a crisp, chilly morning here and I'm sitting typing this in my newly renovated "Writing Nook," which we've used as a "mudroom" for the last 10+ years.
I love my new space down to the LED lights that flicker to music vibrations, the OSB (cork style) walls, and the art, rocks, and silly toys used for decorations. I even have a pencil sharpener that was my dad's, shaped like an old-fashioned lantern.

Books
What are you currently reading?
I’m reading What Fresh Hell Is This by Heather Corinna which is about the life transitions of peri and menopause. It’s an inclusive and feminist read that’s full of valuable information and empowerment.
I recently finished Felicia C. Sullivan’s memoir, The Sky Isn’t Visible From Here. Lyrical, beautiful, heartbreaking, and hopeful.
I recommend both of these books.

Age of Empathy #CNF Literary Publication
AofE has a new organization up on our landing page. You’ll see the Submission Guidelines and the About Us info at the very top. After that, you’ll see a few of the latest stories. Following this is the current Prompt and Prompt responses. We also have a section where we hand curate a few articles “From the Archive.” Below that is a “Trending Stories” section. With the help of the algorithm, older stories that were/are popular appear on the front page.
We hope this helps our writers and publication grow!
New writer submissions will be open for the first week of every month starting in November 2021.
Be sure to follow us on Twitter, where we post and repost stories and tweets from writers and publications we love!

P.S. We added a “Tip the Team” tab on the homepage. This is to support our volunteer editorial team. We have no idea how this will go. Here’s hoping we garner some support. :)
Aimée’s Creative Endeavors
I’ve been playing around with what I produce. Creative content creators have to think about our strategy. How much will we create in the name of creativity and how much will we create geared towards lots of reads? I don’t have the answer. I know I’m a creative who enjoys producing content that I’d want to read.
How do you deal with this quandary?
