Toby to Begin Walking
KANEOHE — Toby, market leader in six-toothed, single-dimpled smiles, announced today plans to join the ranks of the ambulatory. After weeks of partner-assisted trials, the thirteen-month-old confirmed that she is ready to begin independent bipedal locomotion “immediately.”
The announcement reflects the suddenly-now-a-toddler’s shift in strategy towards developing a platform of new capabilities over the long term. While she acknowledges the huge successes she’s had while crawling, she sees a wealth of opportunities ahead for her as a walker.
The decision to emphasize Toby’s walking program takes effect immediately. Though the big girl expects crawling to remain an expedient, reliable mechanism to traverse basic surfaces, Toby notes that walking - especially while wearing shoes - will allow her to overcome obstacles such as sun-heated pavement, rough and rocky terrain, and rooms with toys just absolutely everywhere. She also expects quick gains from an exciting new technology enabled by walking: carrying things.
Dad, Chief Operating Officer for Toby, breathlessly noted that this is an “exhilarating” time for the organization, and that he looks forward to Toby’s continued rapid growth.
