** 2020 vision: Building a strong website for your business
https://pauljardine.co.uk/blog/2020-vision-building-a-strong-website-for-your-business/ Three in four people who visit your site make up their mind about your business within moments of landing on it.
And with nearly £70 billion spent online last year, if you rely on your site for being successful in your business, it is crucial you focus on the right things to make it work as hard as possible for you.
In this post, I look at the most important elements of your online presence that need to be sorted for 2020 and beyond. READ THE BLOG (https://pauljardine.co.uk/blog/2020-vision-building-a-strong-website-for-your-business/)
** Special offer: Website review
https://pauljardine.co.uk/services/website-reviews/ Is your website helping you achieve your business goals? Or is it deterring visitors by loading slowly, or perhaps they never even reach your site because it’s not showing up in search engines.
An under-performing site doesn’t always need a full redesign; sometimes it just needs a professional to steer it in the right direction.
That’s where I come in, and during January you can book a website review with a 20% discount!
I will assess your site in terms of page speed, usability and search engine visibility and give you recommendations so you can improve the things that are keeping you back.

** 3 top tips for improving accessibility on your website
Accessibility is important to make sure the content of your website can be read by anyone, whether they are fully sighted, short-sighted, colour blind or visually impaired and using a screen reader (a tool that reads out the content of a website out loud).
I always aim for everything I build to be coded to WCAG AA standards. Here are a few easy ways to make your website more accessible to your readers. * Make sure text is large enough to easily read. Avoid placing text on top of images or coloured backgrounds, as that can make it difficult to read (e.g. blue text on red). * All images you upload should have an ‘Alt text’ that describe what the image is. Adding a full stop to the end of an alt text makes the screen reader take a pause, so it’s easier for the user to listen to. * Give links descriptive names, so avoid using ‘Click here’. Also try to avoid putting links or buttons too close together.
** SEO Workshop Survey
Last year I ran a number of well-received SEO for Beginners workshops (https://pauljardine.co.uk/seo-workshop-for-beginners/) . This year I’d like to continue helping small business understand SEO better, but I want to make sure the workshops really fulfil the needs of those thinking about attending.
So if you’d like to come to one of these workshops, I’d love to hear from you. I’ve put together a very short (promise!) survey (https://pauljardine.co.uk/workshops-survey/) to check what you’d like to learn and when is the best time for you to come to a session.
I’d be very grateful if you could spare a minute to help me out!
As always, newsletter subscribers get first dibs on tickets, so you’ll be the first to find out when the dates and content are finalised.
Thank you!
FILL IN THE SURVEY (PLEASE!) (https://pauljardine.co.uk/workshops-survey/) Until next time, Paul
