Hello there |FNAME|!
I hope you are well?
I’m not just yet winding down for the year, but I have now delivered my final SEO for Beginners workshop for 2019. It’s been great launching and running these workshops (https://pauljardine.co.uk/seo-workshop-for-beginners/) this year, and I’ve really enjoyed hearing how attendees have achieved success by implementing what they have learned.
Watch this space for a relaunch of these workshops in 2020, when as a subscriber to my newsletter, you’ll be the first to hear about new dates.
In this month’s newsletter we have: * Stockport for Good panel write-up (#Stockport for Good) * Getting head space at The Wilderness Tonic (#Wilderness Tonic) * Top tips to improve your site on mobile (#top tips) * Spotlight on eCommerce web design (#Service Spotlight) * A new case study (#Case study)
Happy reading!

** Stockport for Good panel
https://pauljardine.co.uk/blog/stockport-for-good/ A few weeks ago, I was on a panel at the ‘Stockport for Good’ event held by Foodsync. We talked about the meaning of “good” business, community and what the future holds for Stockport.
It was a really interesting discussion, with members of the audience also sharing their thoughts on the topics that came up, and it was a positive experience to be surrounded by others from the Stockport business community.
There’s a summary of the event on my blog; go and have a read (https://pauljardine.co.uk/blog/stockport-for-good/) (and thanks to Camilla from Wardrobe Wellbeing for the photo!).

** Finding headspace at The Wilderness Tonic
https://pauljardine.co.uk/blog/the-wilderness-tonic-retreat/ When you’re in the thick of running a small business it can be difficult to find the time to stop and assess how you’re actually doing and where you want to be.
Even after 5 years of self-employment, I still find it difficult to find the time amid doing client work and running a business.
So it was to my great joy that I had the chance to attend The Wilderness Tonic retreat - an away day in the Peak District for people like me.
It was a brilliant day, and I wrote about it in this post (https://pauljardine.co.uk/blog/the-wilderness-tonic-retreat/) . READ ABOUT THE WILDERNESS TONIC (https://pauljardine.co.uk/blog/the-wilderness-tonic-retreat/)
** 3 top tips to improve your site on phones
84% of UK adults use mobile devices to use the internet, according to the latest ONS data. So if you want to give your visitors the best experience on your site, you need to make sure it works really well even on small screens.
Here are 5 things you can do to improve your site for mobile internet users. * Keep content short and snappy. Break up your text with sub-headings and use images and bullet lists where appropriate. * Include key calls to action near the top of the page. Don’t expect readers to always scroll to the bottom of a page. Include links to other key areas of your site through your articles, so they are seen while you still hold the reader’s attention. * Pin important action buttons to the top or bottom of the screen. Links to access your main menu and calls to action such as ‘add to basket’ on shops should be accessible wherever you are on the page. * Keep it simple! Limited screen space means a minimalist approach will ensure key content and calls to action stand out. * Test, test and test again!
** Service spotlight: eCOMMERCE WEB DESIGN
Do you want to sell more through your site in 2020?
To sell effectively online, you need a site that will: * work well on all screen sizes, * allow you to easily manage products, * take payment quickly and securely, and * work effectively!
I am now taking bookings for 2020 to build and improve WooCommerce and Shopify websites, so if this is something you want to prioritise next year, get in touch to have a friendly chat! FIND OUT MORE (https://pauljardine.co.uk/services/ecommerce-website-development/)
** Case study: AC Computers
AC Computer Warehouse (https://pauljardine.co.uk/case-studies/ac-computer-warehouse/) had outgrown their Wix site when they came to me with a brief to build a new online shop to improve sales and bookings. I used WooCommerce to build a new site that delivers a great user experience on all screen sizes, with fast load speed, clear information and advanced search functionality.
We’re all very happy with the results so far. Since the site launched in June, AC Computer Warehouse has seen an increase in traffic of 40%, improved search visibility and more inbound enquiries. What is more, they have recouped their investment in their new site in less than two months through online sales alone!
Read the case study to see how I did it, or get in touch to chat about how I can help increase your sales! READ THE CASE STUDY (https://pauljardine.co.uk/case-studies/ac-computer-warehouse/) Until next time, Paul
