Game UI, a font testing tool, and the state of cross-browser CSS support

Hey there!

Another week has passed by! Whew! Time flies!

I’m finally starting to see some more gaps where I can spend some time writing, so hopefully a blogging article is coming out soon! I know, I’ve been saying this over and over.

In all honesty, jumping right into blogging without a plan wasn’t the greatest idea, but with the time constraints I’ve had to make this website and start blogging before applying to jobs there wasn’t a lot of room for me.

Centered text horror, mobile app dev struggles, and a web interface handbook

Hey there!

I'm a day late to send this! I've been incredibly busy this week and wasn't able to take a single moment to write anything. 🙃 Now that I'm free for the moment I'm quickly catching up to everything!

Now that you're reading, I'd also like you to take some time at the art side of my internet presence. Together with 24 other illustrators and 2 musicians I've launched a medley and a fanzine to commerate the 10th anniversary of a particular franchise. All proceeds will go to SPC Osaka, a non-profit organisation for mental health and Japan's #1 suicide hotline.

I know my fellow devs wouldn't necessarily care about the subject itself, but if you're feeling generous, I'd be incredibly delighted if you could purchase the fanzine. Consider it a donation!

Bite-sized learning, content-aware image resizing, and two all-in-one resources

Howdy!

Hope your week has been nice and jazzy so far.

My next blog post might come later than I’d anticipated. A lot of things got in the way that kept me from writing it (people are right; job hunting is a full-time job 😢). Hopefully I can get to it soon!

A blog sneak peek, HTML emails, and a free copy of a tech resume book

Hey there!

Hope everyone’s been having a good week! Here’s already a little teaser of what’s to come… 👀 (don’t worry, you’re still getting the usual newsletter after this!)

My next blog article will be a series of tutorials that are related to the making of my portfolio website. A lot of people have complimented my new website, so I think this would be a great series to start with!

Space Jam, visual search engines, and staying curious

Hey there!

I hope you’ve had a great week so far.

It’s been hectic for me, trying to figure out my workflow for blogging and writing newsletters. They’re like new balls that have been thrown at me while I was already nervously juggling with another 3 balls. 😂 But I love it!

There’s a lot of new content below (including a new article from me), so get ready!

Time management, ethical resources, and a very shiny 3D button

Hey there!

This is my first newsletter ever, and you're one of my first subscribers. Really, thank you for joining this journey with me! It sounds a little cheesy but I mean it!

Since this is my first weekly email, I'd really appreciate it if you could take the time to leave some feedback by replying to this email.

Anyway, let's get to it!

Welcome!

You're now part of this journey, and you're awesome for that!

We must continue learning throughout our career to stay on top. Newsletters were my favourite way to stay up-to-date.

✨✨ Here are some personal tips on how to get the most out of newsletters:

  • Divide them into different categories on your email account! Nobody likes a whole pile of emails in one inbox. Make the most out of mail rules.
  • Plan an hour dedicated to catching up to newsletters. It doesn't have to take up that much time either! Personally, I try to spend at least 4 hours a week.
  • If you don't have enough time to read articles that may take up more time than you have planned, add them to a to-read list. You can read them on days your inbox doesn't have a lot.
  • Keep an organised space where you store resources for later use. I use Notion for that, but you could use your browser bookmarks with folders as well. Never make it a plain list.
