In honour of 15 years since our announcement about not tracking the people using Mojeek, we launched the Mojeek Newsletter. This will be an occasional email sent no more than once a month to keep you updated on what we’re up to. Content will cover new features that you can use on Mojeek, general updates, and, where appropriate, stories and comment about the wider world of search, surveillance, privacy, and liberation from the claws of Big Tech.
We’ve looked far and wide for an email tool that would accord with our values, and have settled on Buttondown, a simple, independent, and financially transparent tool. As you would expect, this email tool can and will be used without tracking.
We only need an email address so that we can send the newsletter to you, and nothing more. No need to give your name, and if you are especially concerned about identification there are always burner email services. You can also subscribe to it using RSS.
Whilst Big Tech expand their servers for mountains of personal data, used to feed hungry AI algorithms, we have focussed on the servers running Mojeek’s independent search index. Surveillance capitalism has been winning; it’s time for us to fight back.
If you’d like to be a closer part of that fight, you can enter in an email address and click the button below to sign up.
